In Hong Kong, as in other densely-populated cities, environmental issues such as the deterioration of air and water quality, and increased constraints on solid waste management, have posed great challenges to environmental engineers.

In recent years, rapid technological advances as well as the availability of more and more well-trained personnel in the environmental engineering field have led to a stronger demand for advanced studies at the PG level in environmental engineering. The former factor means more people in the field now feel the need to keep themselves updated on the latest technologies available for solving environmental issues. The latter factor means environmental engineers now feel greater pressure to enhance their professional competency and qualification in order to stay competitive and remain occupationally mobile.
近年来，快速的技术进步，以及环境工程领域越来越多的训练有素的人员，使得在环境工程的PG级的高级研究变得更加强烈。以前的因素意味着现在有更多的人觉得有必要更新最新的技术以解决环境问题。后一个因素意味着，环境工程师们现在感受到更大的压力，要求他们提高自己的专业能力和资质，以保持竞争力，并保持职业发展。
With the above background, the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Master of Science (MSc) programs in Environmental Engineering and Management are meant to meet the needs of practicing engineers who may be engaged in the design, commissioning and management of environmental facilities and infrastructure systems.

Target Students
The target students are practicing engineers in Hong Kong who engage in the design, supply, commissioning, and management of environmental facilities and infrastructure systems. Fresh graduates who have good academic record are also our targets.
目标学生是在香港实习的工程师，他们从事环境设施和基础设施系统的设计、供应、调试和管理。有良好学术记录的应届毕业生也是我们的目标。
Admission Requirement
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field with second-class honors or higher, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or tertiary institution.
申请人必须具有土木/化学/机械工程学士学位，或具有二等或以上学位的相关工程领域，或已被公认的大学或高等院校同等学历。
English Requirements
Applicants from Universities where English is not the medium of instruction, please provide an English proficiency proof in the application. Some recommended scores are as follows:
IELTS Overall score ≥ 6.0 All sub-scores ≥ 5.5
TOEFL(iBT) score ≥ 80
